“Live at subterranean”

Released December 20, 2013
We got to do a LIVE recording at one of our favorite venues in Chicago, Subterranean, playing through a handful of old hymns and Christmas songs. This was such a fun night! Our pal put the whole evening together and pre-recorded various people reading old texts from guys like St Augustine, Charles Spurgeon and others that played throughout the night. You’ll hear them on a few of the tracks! Posted some video from the evening below.

LYRICS

LIVE AT SUBTERRANEAN

01. Holy, Holy, Holy
holy, holy, holy! Lord God almighty!
early in the morning our song shall rise to thee;
life and light are with thee, merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, blessed trinity

holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see;
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in power, in love and purity.

holy, holy, holy! Lord God almighty!
all thy works shall praise thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
life and light are with thee, there is none beside thee;
God in three persons, blessed trinity.
God in three persons, blessed trinity.

02. This is the Day
this is the day. this is the day that the Lord has made - that the Lord has made
this is the day. this is the day that the Lord has made - that the Lord has made
and I will rejoice and be glad in it.
and I will rejoice and be glad in it.
this is the day that the Lord has made.

save us we pray. save us we pray. salvation come. salvation come.
save us we pray. save us we pray. salvation come. salvation come.
we will not die, but will live in peace.
we will not die, but will live in peace.
his love endures. his love endures forevermore.

sing all the earth!
just to speak his name is praise!
lift up your voice and sing hallelujah
sing all the earth!
just to speak his name is praise!
lift up your voice and sing hallelujah

you are our God. you are our God.
we lift high your praise. we lift high your praise.
you are our strength. you are our song,
our victory our victory.
we will not fear, but be glad in you.
we will not fear, but be glad in you
this is the day. this is the day that the Lord has made.

03. Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
what a fellowship, what a joy divine,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
what a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

o how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
o how bright the path grows from day to day,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

04. Jesus Loves Me
Jesus loves me loves me still;
tho' I'm very weak and ill.
that I might from sin be free;
bled and died upon the tree.

give me Jesus.
I need Jesus.
give me Jesus.
give me Jesus.

Jesus loves me He will stay
close beside me all the way.
thou hast bled and died for me.
I will henceforth live for thee.

Jesus loves me this I know for the bible tells me so.
little ones to Him belong they are weak but he is strong.

give me Jesus.
I need Jesus.
give me Jesus.
give me Jesus.

give me Jesus.
I need Jesus.
give me Jesus.
give me Jesus.

05. Once I Was Dead in Sin
o height o depth, I cannot reach or sound
o love, boundless love in my Redeemer found

I live and yet not I, but Christ that lives in me,
who from the law of sin and death has made me free

and can it be that He loved me and gave Himself up for me?
and can it be that He loved me and gave Himself up for me?

sing all ye saints of the Lord
sing all ye saints

once I was dead in sin, and hope within me died;
but now I'm dead to sin, with Christ I'm crucified.

and can it be that He loved me and gave Himself up for me?
and can it be that He loved me and gave Himself up for me?

sing all ye saints of the Lord
sing all ye saints
o love boundless love my Redeemer found
sing all ye saints

06. Be Thou My Vision
be Thou my vision O Lord of my heart
naught be all else to me save that Thou art
thou my best thought by day or by night
waking or sleeping Thy presence my light

be Thou my Wisdom and Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
thou my great Father, and I thy true son
thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one

high King of Heaven, my victory won
may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun
heart of my own heart, whatever befall
still be my Vision, O Ruler of all

07. I Have Decided to Follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus.
I have decided to follow Jesus.
I have decided to follow Jesus;
no turning back, no turning back.

tho' none go with me, I still will follow.
tho' none go with me I still will follow,
tho' none go with me, I still will follow;
no turning back, no turning back.

no turning back, no turning back.
no turning back, no turning back.

my cross I'll carry, till I see Jesus,
my cross I'll carry till I see Jesus,
my cross I'll carry till I see Jesus,
no turning back, no turning back.

the world behind me, the cross before me,
the world behind me, the cross before me;
the world behind me, the cross before me,
no turning back, no turning back.

08. O Come All Ye Faithful
O come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant
O come ye O come ye to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him born the King of angels
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him Christ the Lord

Sing choirs of angels sing in exultation
O sing all ye citizens of heaven above
Glory to God all glory in the highest
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him Christ the Lord

Come and behold Him born the King of angels
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him Christ
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him Christ the Lord

09. We Three Kings
we three kings of orient are
bearing gifts we traverse afar;
field and fountain,
moor and mountain
following yonder star.

oh
star of wonder, star of night;
star with royal beauty bright
westward leading, still proceeding
guide us to thy perfect light.

born a king on bethlehem's plain
gold I bring to crown Him again;
king forever, ceasing never over us all to reign.

oh
star of wonder, star of night;
star with royal beauty bright
westward leading, still proceeding
guide us to thy perfect light.

myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume
breathes of life of gathering gloom.
sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying
sealed in the stone-cold tomb.

glorious now behold him arise
king and God and sacrifice;
alleluia, alleluia earth to heav'n replies.

oh
star of wonder, star of night;
star with royal beauty bright
westward leading, still proceeding
guide us to thy perfect light.

10. Amazing Grace
amazing grace! how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.

through many dangers toils and snares, I have already come.
'tis grace has brought me safe this far, and grace will lead.

'tis grace has brought me safe this far.
'tis grace has brought me safe this far.

when we've been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun,
we've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun.

we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
I once was lost, but now am found,
I once was lost, but now am found,

I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.
