Idol Factory Gallery

Wise is the congregation that proclaims the Word of God in ways that actively expose and resist both the idols that we are tempted to worship instead of God and also the idols of our distorted understandings of God.

Blessed is the congregation that challenges these distortions by contemplating the person and work of Jesus Christ who is “the radiance of God’s glory.”

We are inviting all artists to create work that is inspired and informed by our current seven-week series called, “Idol Factory.” This series includes:

  • the idol of power (control/anger)
  • the idol of people (fear of man)
  • the idol of success (work, money, possessions)
  • the idol of pleasure (sex, sloth)
  • the idol of religion (self-righteousness).

We will conclude this series on August 2nd discussing the remedy to our idol-making, namely, keeping ourselves in the love of God.

We want to call all artists to offer and discipline their various gifts so God’s people may testify to the goodness of God, offer thanks and express repentance of our own idol-making.

Our plan is to curate a gallery displaying the various works from our artists so that through beholding these various gifts, our hearts and minds might be directed to the good and true radiance of God’s glory (Heb 1:3).

We encourage any medium at all and ask that all final submissions be in by August 9th to be considered.
